FAQ's About Reiki
Reiki FAQ's
What Is Reiki?
Reiki, (pronounced ray-key) is an ancient, gentle, and natural system of healing. Reiki originated in Tibet and was rediscovered in the 19th century by a Japanese monk named Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki activates the healing qualities of universal life force energy, and assists the body-mind-spirit system to function more optimally. If our life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress or anxious and depressed. If our life force is high, we are happier and healthier. Reiki promotes this higher level of life force energy, which facilitates healing on all levels: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
Is Reiki A Religion?
In a word, No.
Reiki energy is spiritual in nature and is not affiliated with any religion or religious system. There are effective Reiki practitioners who are from all walks of life, with various, or no, religious backgrounds.
